Gears 5 made its debut back in 2019 and was a return to form for the action series that made incredible use of Unreal Engine 4. The Coalition has done a great job keeping the franchise alive, but there hasn’t been any official chatter since the release of Gears Tactics back in 2020.
What’s more, Gears 5 ended on a pretty big cliffhanger, and many fans are looking forward to what lies ahead for Kait. Though, it seems we’ll finally get some closure with Gears 6 rumored to be unveiled pretty soon!
The rumor comes from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb while he was on Kinda Funny Xcast where he mentions that we’re likely to see something related to Gears 6 in the summer, which is usually when big publishers have major showcases and events planned. Here is the relevant bit about Gears 6:
"Well, real quick I will say I've heard some stuff might be happening with Gears 6 this summer. I think that a tease sounds about right to me, Parris, that seems like what we can expect. [...] As always, plans can change, you can get mad at me, I'm used to it now."

Tom Warren from The Verge corroborated Jeff Grubb’s scoop, and tweeted out the following ending with a “Correct”.
The nature of this announcement, or reveal wasn’t hinted by Jeff Grubb, but given how long it has been since the last release, we’re expecting to see something substantial at the Xbox Showcase in June 2024.
