It's October 24th and we're on the cusp of Halloween! Time to chow down on cheap candy, watch grotesque movies and boot up some scary video games like Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Or maybe something that fits the October ambiance, like Castlevania!
Everyone has their own ideas of what makes something scary. My scariest gaming moment is tied to one of my earliest memories playing a video game. If I were to dig deep in my mind and think about what my scariest gaming moment would be, it would have to come from Super Mario World of all places! One part of the game that freaked me out something stupid would be the Banzai Bill that appears in Yoshi's Island Course 1 and exactly two other courses in the game. As a kid, I'm attracted to all the cute and cuddly characters like the Koopas and Yoshi. But Banzai Bill was something disturbing!

Out of NOWHERE, this giant bullet/cannonball/bomb thing with the face of a killer comes out to tear Mario a new pie-hole! It took me a few years to muster up the courage to be willing to play the game again and finish up that level.
