In a strange turn of events, instead of the usual trend of a game being delayed, we have a game that’s actually having its release date moved up. Sloclap’s highly anticipated Kung Fu action game Sifu has had its release date moved from February 22nd, 2022 to February 8th, 2022.
Though 2 weeks doesn’t seem like too much a difference, it’s nice to see a title that has so much anticipation behind it may actually release in full working order.
Alongside the news came a brand-new release update trailer as well as two new videos showing off some of the game’s core mechanics in action.
The “Death and Aging Preview” shows off how dying in SIfu isn’t the end but an essential part of actually learning the game and eventually completing it. Your character has the chance to master new abilities and adapt to the world around them.
The “Combat System Overview” actually gives a pretty good look at what players can really expect as far as what fighting situations will look like. There are different enemy types with their own sets of fighting styles and such. Additionally, you’ll also be able to build up focus as you fight which works similarly to the VATS system from the Fallout series.
Preorders for Sifu are currently available for $39.99 for the standard edition and $49.99 for the Deluxe Edition.
Sifu releases February 8th, 2022, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Epic Games Store.
