Role playing games started out as a table top game where players chose their paths and actions, but it was the dice that decided their destiny. Keeping true to this play style and bringing it to the world of RPG video games is the French indie developer, Tactical Adventures with their upcoming title Solasta: Crown of the Magister.
In hopes of bringing this game to fruition, they have launched a Kickstarter campaign to obtain the funding needed to complete the development process. While this is good news, many potential players would feel better with a sample of what they are putting their money towards. Knowing that it is better to hand over controls than to just simply launch a gameplay trailer, this team decided to do both! Their free demo is located on their Steam page for all to feel the experience that their game will bring before they head over and aid the crowdfunding campaign.
It is interesting to see the classic table top experience being brought back in this turn-based tactical RPG. Their slogan is literally, “In Solasta, you make the choices, dice decide your destiny.” It is worth checking out the gameplay trailer below before heading on over to try the game in action for yourself. Who knows, you might even end up wanting to aid their funding campaign.
