As E3 2018 gets nearer with only a few weeks to go, video game developers and publishers are pre-occupied with ensuring that their games get the maximum exposure in the event as possible. Now, the developers behind two of the most highly-anticipated games in the event recently posted images teasing players of what to expect.
First was Neil Druckmann, Vice President at Naughty Dog, who tweeted what looks like a screenshot of a post-apocalyptic neighborhood. Of course, it wouldn’t take that much to figure out that this is an image from Naughty Dog’s upcoming title, The Last of Us Part II. Druckmann’s tweet was captioned: “T-minus 3 weeks. #E32018”
Several hours after Druckmann’s tweet, Metal Gear Creator Hideo Kojima also posted a teaser for his upcoming game Death Stranding. The image posted also looked like a screenshot from the anticipated trailer that will be featured at E3. The image is captioned, “+1 on the T-minus 3 weeks. #E32018 DecimaxKojima=DS.”
Breaking down the caption, we can assume that the +1 is referring to the similar caption by Druckmann on his The Last of Us 2 tease. As for the DecimaxKokima=DS caption, we’re guessing that Decima stands for the game engine that Death Stranding will be using, and as for DS, I’m sure you know what that means. Given Kojima’s reputation of putting hidden meanings and secret signs in his games, could the image of what appears to be a moss, covering something underneath? Is it a dead body? Or is that too easy?
