Mixing together the gameplay features of city-building, world exploration, and survival through combat and strategy is the new developer studio Covenant. This new studio was put together by former CD Projekt Red and 11 Bit Studios producer Stan Just and he is ready to put players in a grim fantasy world based on Slavic folklore. This dark fantasy adventure title will be the studio’s first and it is called Gord.
This single-player title will feature developing societies, eerie forbidden lands, and remarkable mythical creatures. Players complete quests and manage a populace whose personal stories and well-being impact the fate of the settlement. The unique survival, quest, and city-builder elements will keep players on their toes as they play through the procedurally generated scenarios.
Currently, Gord is only planned to release on PC via Steam in 2022. We may hear of other platforms announced as we get closer to a launch date, but for now, it might be a title worth throwing in your wishlist. If you are a fan of the dark and challenging, this game definitely seems to be aiming to fit that description.
