The ARK Franchise Expands With An Animated Series And Spin-Off Title

As the popularity of Studio Wildcard’s game ARK: Survival Evolved, they decided to begin expanding the franchise with more content. Of course, they currently have the festive holiday event taking place right now, but that’s not all they have in store for their players. For instance, they have just released their spin-off title ARK: Survival of the Fittest as part of the main game’s content.

In the Survival of the Fittest mode, 60 combatants face off against each other in a fast-paced, action-packed struggle for survival, where players are ultimately pushed into an epic final showdown leading their Dinosaur Armies into battle. It’s the ultimate Jurassic free-for-all to see who will be the last survivor - and dinosaur - standing! Currently, it is available as a prototype only on PC via Steam with a significant number of updates and changes planned to improve the new mode before they release it with cross-play on consoles in 2023.

In bigger news for the franchise as a whole, they have released the first in-depth look at Season One of ARK: The Animated Series! This big-screen adaptation of the game features Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All At Once), Gerard Butler (300), Russell Crowe (Gladiator), and is Executive Produced by Vin Diesel (Fast Franchise).

In a sweeping story that spans eons of human and world history, 21st-century paleontologist Helena Walker finds herself resurrected on a mysterious primeval land after a tragedy. There she must learn to survive and find new allies, or die again at the hands of ruthless warlords -- all while trying to uncover the true nature of their strange new world.

The Animated Series will release on a to-be-announced platform in 2023. For now, check out the in-depth reveal below and let us know what you think about the future of the ARK franchise in the comments.
