Dark Horse announced a few days ago that they are making a hardcover art book for the award-winning game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which will be released on November 20, 2018. The collector’s edition, called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Creating a Champion, will be 424 pages thick, that features all the artwork from the game, and will be priced at $40.
Furthermore, Dark Horse’s announcement revealed details regarding the upcoming collector’s art book. First, it will showcase 296 pages of artwork and design together with a commentary from the developers. The book will also include 55 pages of the game’s history that will stretch from the beginning up until the events leading up to Breath of the Wild. Lastly, the book will include 50 sketches and illustrations from Takumi Wada, an illustrator for the game. Finally, the book will feature interviews from some of the game’s developers including Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Satoru Takizawa, and Eiji Aonuma. All materials and content will come from Breath of the Wild and its two DLC packs.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Creating a Champion is not the first book released by Dark Horse based on the Zelda franchise. Back in 2013, they released Hyrule Historia, which was praised for their detailed outline of the entire Zelda timeline.
