Striking Distance and KRAFTON have revealed brand new DLC content for The Callisto Protocol, “The Contagion Bundle”. This new content drop includes access to the new Contagion Mode, 14 new death animations for Jacob, and the Watchtower Skin Collection. Striking Distance has stated that the new Contagion Mode should be viewed as the game’s ultimate survival horror experience. Players will have to fight tactically, use ammo wisely, and be prepared to fight stronger enemies with limited resources. If that didn’t sound tough enough, the manual save option is gone and every death will have the player restart from the beginning of the current chapter (ouch!). Although a permadeath mode would be the most extreme, this Contagion Mode does sound like quite a feat of its own.
What better way to play through The Callisto Protocol again than in a harder mode, where death is imminent and you can feast your eyes on 14 new ways to die? Pair these new death animations with the new Contagion Mode and you will have a fresh take on the survival horror experience that dazzled us last year. On top of this, players can also expect the Watchtower Skin Collection which seems to give off a cool illuminated effect to Jacobs armor. It doesn’t hurt to look good while being ripped to shreds…oh wait.
The Callisto Protocol is available now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and EGS. The Contagion Bundle is available now as part of the Digital Deluxe Edition, Season Pass, or a separate purchase.
