The series of Assassins Creed games that defined the series appear to be on their way to PS4 and Xbox One. Neogaf reports the Korean game ratings board leaked the Assassin's Creed: Ezio Collection as a listed title on their site for both current gen consoles.
Ezio Auditore is the most fleshed out Assassin of the series. In case you can't remember him, but rather the games, here's the list of his titles.
- Assassin's Creed 2
- Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
- Assassin's Creed Revelations
In my opinion, I put Assassin's Creed 2 over the original in terms of quality. The original laid the ground work of course, but the second game really enhanced the mechanics and polished them in about every way. This steady streak of improvement continued with the following games and then ground to an unfortunate halt with Assassin's Creed 3 and hasn't recovered since.
Actually, I take that back, Black Flag was a surprisingly bright light in what has been a dark mass of mediocrity since Revelations.
While most of the Assassin's Creed games now have the mechanics that were established in the Ezio series, there's a lot more to this series that make it the best in the franchise. The story takes place during the Renaissance in Italy, the story involves the real life Borgia family (who were real villains), and the final boss of Assassin's Creed 2 is the evil pope.
Of course we have no official confirmation on any of this yet, but I've learned to trust these foreign leaks more often than not. Hell, they broke the news of the Bioshock Remaster several months before it was official!
