Red Barrels recently released a brand new trailer announcing the early access launch date of the latest title in the Outlast series, The Outlast Trials. Players will be able to attempt to escape the madness either solo or with friends on May 18th. This game will be the first multiplayer-centric title in the series, encouraging co-op play in order to survive the horrendous trials that await.
Players will be tested in a series of trials that will put distrust, fear, and challenge their morals all in the name of science. Players are involuntarily tested to see if they have what it takes to survive. You can complete the terrifying trials alone or with up to 3 other players. As you progress through the trials, you can unlock tools to help you stay hidden in the shadows or slow down enemies, giving you additional time to live just a bit longer.
The Outlast Trials is still taking the series’ fundamental gameplay of “hide or flight” making it essential for players to avoid enemy detection as much as possible. The survival horror co-op will launch in early access on May 18th for PC via Steam and EGS.
