Path of Exile 2 is available now in early access and it’s definitely worth the reasonable asking price. If you are new to POE or a POE expert, it doesn’t matter as POE2 has a much different feel, pace, and design compared to most ARPGs and especially when stacked up against POE1. Check out our tips below before you dive in or if you are struggling to progress!
Take it slow. That is the biggest difference I have seen so far against POE1 and some other ARPGs where you can just blast through the starter levels. This is a journey, not a race.
Explore every square inch of each area. Going along with tip number one, if you are rushing through each area just to get the final boss, you are going to miss a lot of loot, story bits, lore, and even mini-bosses.
If you are struggling, try a different class. I have seen a lot of reports that melee classes are struggling to progress. It doesn’t hurt to try a different class. I am blasting with the Sorceress.
Farm mini-bosses for loot. Each map area resets every 7-15 mins so, if you beat a mini-boss, go to another area and rinse and repeat. I was level 10 with some great loot before I even got out of the first few areas.
Have fun. I have read on many forums that people say this game is too hard. It is if you don’t relax, take your time, and HAVE FUN. So much content nowadays is min/max and see who can clear it the fastest. It’s very apparent this game is designed to sip like a fine wine, not chug like a gas station 40 oz.
