Tyrant Off-Screen Functions In The RESIDENT EVIL REMAKES Are Ridiculously Different

While there is a tug-of-war within the Resident Evil community on the quality of the remakes, most of us can agree that they are entertaining in their own right. Even our review of Resident Evil 3 Remake kicks that point right in the headline, claiming it is an experience unlike the original while giving it a positive score. Regardless of how you feel about these remakes, from a development point-of-view, there is something interesting about seeing constantly active enemies when they are off-screen.

Thanks to YouTuber Slippy Slides, we can now compare the tyrants from Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes using his two videos covering their activity out-of-bounds. While in a way their actions make sense, it really seems like the team Capcom put behind the 2nd Remake had more care for the project than the team put behind the 3rd Remake. I say this because you can see Mr. X and G both actually moving when they aren’t even in the view of the player which gives the authenticity of their presence. But when it comes to Nemesis, the big bad brute that is supposed to breathe terror, it is beyond obviously scripted that the checkpoint feeling his not-so-random appearances give become apparent.

Don’t get me wrong now, I still stand by my review score of the game, but seeing them back to back makes me wish that Nemesis had a more randomized appearance. Either way, both Remakes are enjoyable titles within their own right and give us a new way to play these classic stories. Check out the two off-camera videos from our curious host below:
