Naughty Dog wowed PS4 players last year with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, giving gamers a thrilling conclusion to Nathan Drake’s treasure hunting high octane adventures. Upon release, Naughty Dog promised fans a fully enriched single player DLC that was available in Uncharted 4’s season pass. At PSX 2016, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy was finally revealed, showcasing Chloe Frazer as the games new protagonist, but Naughty Dog stayed tightlipped about any other details.
Recently, Naughty Dog has revealed that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be released August 22, 2017 and will be a free download to all owners of either the Digital Deluxe Edition, Explorer’s Pack, or the Triple Pack from Uncharted 4. Now for those who haven’t purchased any of the DLC packs stated, this will be released as a stand alone title and will also have a physical release. Pre-ordering Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will nab you a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for PS4 on launch date. Unfortunately, if you already own the season pass for Uncharted 4, you will not get the Jak and Daxter digital copy for free, but it is a great incentive for those wanting to buy a physical copy of the game.
Lately there has been a lot of talk regarding The Lost Legacy and how quickly the ambition escalated for the development of this game. Naughty Dog originally planned this single player add-on to be no more than a couple hours long, similar to The Last of Us’ Left Behind DLC, but recently revealed that the team “couldn’t control their creativity” and now we have what Naughty Dog is calling “A true Uncharted game” that can last up to 10 hours long. You can expect to see new locations, refined gameplay, a deep narrative and the blockbuster cinematic moments that the series is known for.
