This weekend at BlizzCon, Blizzard announced some great additions to their MOBA, Heroes of the Storm. Along with two new battlegrounds, The Arena and the Towers of Doom, were three new Champions, all from the World of Warcraft realm.
Lunara - First Daughter of the Cenarius
Lunara is a dryad ranged assassin with an emphasis on speed and ease of movement. Her specialty is zipping through jungle and in-between lanes to tag enemies as she passes by. She posses an ability to leap over enemies and obstacles in order to stay out of range of attack.
Greymane - Lord of the Worgen
Greymane is a warrior with an emphasis on melee. His attacks vary dependent upon his human or Worgen form. He is able to close gaps between himself and his enemies with quick leaps and blink-like abilities, cause some serious damage, then get the hell out.
Cho'Gall - Twilight's Hammer Chieftain
Cho'Gall is a very unique character, as one player controls the head of Cho — a slow, heavy hitting warrior and the other player controls Gall — a fast damage dealing assassin. It's somewhat unclear who will control what when playing as this character, but I can see it being one that causes a lot of confusion. Unfortunately, not all of that confusion will be pointed at your enemies.
Heroes of the Storm continues to try and shake things up in the MOBA scene, with its easy to pick up gameplay it is a great introduction into the world of eSports' biggest genre. I can't wait to see more of my favorite Blizzard characters start getting some Heroes love!
