There has been a rise in cosmic horror in the game industry and it has been mainly coming from the indie developers. With many of them proving this style as a key aspect of the horror genre, I have been enjoying the growth in titles. Continuing to increase the library of cosmic horror games is Ares Dragonis, a solo developer that has been working with a few other talented hands to create The Shore.
Experience the story from the eyes of a Father who lost his lovely daughter. As you make your way through sections of combative action, challenging puzzles, and an uneasy atmosphere, you will also be fighting against the psychological thriller that this story will hit you with. Starting on the solid shoreline of a lighthouse and eventually in an unknown world where you encounter mysterious creatures and unravel the secrets behind them.
There is no official launch date yet, but The Shore is expected to launch on Steam sometime within 2020. Their latest teaser trailer shows off gameplay while giving the story in a narrative style that we can expect to see in-game as well.
