From French studio Awaceb comes the upcoming adventure game Tchia, a love letter to New Caledonia (the home of the studio’s two co-founders). Following the titular main character Tchia, a soul-jumping girl living on a tropical island, players will explore an entire archipelago by foot, boat, wing, fin, or even coconut. As crazy as that sounds, the seamless transitioning between walking on two legs and flying with two wings looks to be a major draw for this upcoming title, with Tchia able to soul-jump between a variety of animals and inanimate objects and control them.
As relaxing and beautiful as the vistas of this gorgeous paradise may seem, there is a hidden danger. Tchia’s island has been invaded by strange fabric-like creatures called the Maano, who have kidnapped her father. Players will have to use everything at their disposal to take out these creatures, between burning the cloth villains with lanterns or stunning them with Tchia’s slingshot. Soul-jumping will offer alternatives for creative gamers, as Tchia could jump into a lantern and hurl it at her foes.
In Tchia, follow a girl trying to save her father and her home while utilizing exciting possession mechanics, a smooth movement style, and a climb anywhere approach similar to other open-world titles like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
