Freshman developer Doom Turtle and Asmodee Digital have release a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming rogue-lite, Ember Knights. In the trailer, we see the beginnings of the tale of the Esper, Keeper of the Nexus, and their legendary war with the villain Praxis. As players continue to play through the game, they will discover how Praxis went from Esper’s best friend to a universe-destroying monster.
Utilizing a wide variety of special skills and character upgrades, players will control the titular Ember Knights as they fight to right the wrongs Praxis is wreaking across the universe. After his long exile, Praxis is building his own version of the Nexus in a dark spot in the Prime Worlds.
Combining a retro pixel-art aesthetic with fast-paced hack-n-slash combat, Ember Knights offers a spin on the usual rogue-lite experience by bringing it to the couch. That’s right, even in Early Access, the game will support up to four simultaneous players via local and online co-op. Play with friends, use your unique skills, and one of the dozens of different weapons to take down the forces of Praxis and save the Prime Worlds.
During the Early Access period, Doom Turtle and Asmodee Digital have promised to support the game with regular patches which will include new weapons, skills, relics, enemies, bosses, worlds, gameplay features, and more.
Ember Knights launches on April 20, 2022, on Steam Early Access.
