It’s been a year since the exploration and survival game Niffelheim came out of early access and released on Steam. And to commemorate that time of side-scrolling Viking voyagers, the game will be arriving on consoles September 20th.
For those of you unfamiliar with the grim Nordic saga of Niffelheim, the game’s description sums up the experience:
“Your avatar is a brave warrior who has fallen in battle. But instead of well-deserved peace in Asgard, his soul is trapped in the harsh world of Niffelheim. Survive in this hostile world, ransack the neighbor lands, explore dangerous dungeons and find your way to Valhalla.”
The side-scrolling adventure will test your endurance as you must traverse an unforgiving landscape. Niffelheim has undergone numerous changes since its early access day, resulting in a complex system of survival that bridges construction, combat, and skill development.
Console players will be able to pursue Valhalla in a couple of days.
