Where In The World Is Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad?

A new trailer for Assassin's Creed, showcasing many different locations from the game.

Lately, I’ve gotten back into playing my favorite game series, Assassin’s Creed. As I looked at my collection of the AC games, I noticed something, we don’t have a current-gen Assassin’s Creed (2007) game. Will we ever get a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed (2007)? With “from the ground up” remakes really making their stride with franchises like Resident Evil and most recently Mafia, now would be the best time for Ubisoft to release a remake. Ubisoft over the years has chosen to remaster all of the older titles in the series to get them over to current-gen, including a remastered port of a PS Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed: Liberation.

What would be a reason for Ubisoft to have all of the games of the series on current platforms, and not remaster the game that launched the critically acclaimed series? The game is available via backwards compatibility on Xbox One, but it’s not available to play past that. Now would be the time to have it put on the same platforms as their other remastered parts of the series, before the next-gen consoles come out. Although they could be working on a remake specifically for the next-gen hardware.

Of course, this is just wishful thinking on my part. Who knows, maybe I’m psychic and Ubisoft will drop it at Ubisoft Forward alongside Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla (December). It wouldn’t be the first time Ubisoft released two AC games at the same time. In 2014, Assassin’s Creed: Unity launched for current-gen consoles, while Assassin’s Creed: Rogue launched for the last-gen consoles on the same day (November 11th). If they were to remake and not just remaster it, would they keep the gameplay as is? Would they decide to go the RPG route or would that affect the way the story unfolds? What do you guys think?
