Left to right: Alex Shelley, Stephanie Vaquer, Guilia, and Chris Sabin
WWE 2K25 just dropped its first DLC—the New Wave Pack—which includes four new wrestlers: Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. But there’s one spot left to be revealed: a celebrity guest character.
Here’s my take: if you're ready to release a DLC, the entire pack should be ready to go. And honestly, if it’s not Bad Bunny, I’m not interested. As a longtime wrestling fan, I’ve never cared much for celebrity guests—unless they’ve actually stepped into the ring and delivered something special. That’s why Bad Bunny works. He’s earned his spot. Still, since the mystery celebrity is already locked in, here’s who I think it could be—and who it likely isn’t.
Who I Think It Could Be
When you think of recent celebrities involved with WWE, names like Jelly Roll, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Kittle, and IShowSpeed come to mind. My pick? IShowSpeed. Not necessarily who I want, but who I believe it will be.
Speed made headlines during the Royal Rumble. Like it or not, his chaotic surprise involvement with Tozawa being attacked, Speed being thrown into the match, eliminating someone, and then getting speared in half by Bron Breakker—became one of the most talked-about moments in recent WWE memory. His massive popularity in the streaming world helped amplify the event, making it one of WWE’s most-watched segments.
And there’s another clue in the trailer for the DLC, there's a brief shot of the PRIME mascot performing in the ring. It might just be filler while licensing gets sorted out—but Speed’s WWE debut was as the PRIME mascot, where he confronted Randy Orton. Coincidence? Maybe. But I doubt it.
Who I Think It’s Not
A lot of people are speculating it could be another musician, especially with Post Malone and Bad Bunny appearing in recent games. Some think Travis Scott could be the pick—but I don’t buy it. Will Travis Scott eventually be in the game? One hundred percent. But not as a one-off. Given his WrestleMania involvement and the popularity of his overplayed WWE anthem, I’d expect a full “Scott & Friends” DLC—maybe call it something like the Fien Pack—featuring characters curated by him.
It also won’t be Andrew Schulz. His RAW appearance was clearly a promo for his comedy tour, and there’s zero demand for him as a playable character. George Kittle could be fun—especially with his wrestling connections—but again, the demand isn’t there for an NFL crossover.
And while many celebrities show up for hometown appearances or to promote something, that doesn’t mean they’re making it into the game. You can safely rule most of those out.
Who I Want It To Be
Ideally? A wrestler. Plain and simple. This is a wrestling game. My preference is always for more wrestlers, not celebrity guests. I get that they’re aiming to attract a wider audience, and I respect that. But if I had it my way, this spot would go to a recent signing like Penta, Rey Fenix, Aleister Black, or Rusev—someone who could actually add depth to the roster and bring more in-ring variety.
At the end of the day, we’ll find out soon enough who the mystery character is. But I’ll be crossing my fingers for someone who’s more suplex than spotlight.
