Diablo Draught
It’s no secret that I am a huge Diablo fan. While the series is in a very awkward lurch of sort, the ARPG is definitely my favorite genre in gaming but it has been extremely hit and miss as of late with some massive disappointments that set the Internet ablaze last year and the hurt still continues. Yet I am not here to beat that dead horse, rather, let’s talk about what’s good out there and with that, I introduce Wolcen and it’s fantastic first major Content Patch!
Whether you are a Wolcen diehard or a newcomer to the project, it is still in Steam Early Access and has gone through quite a few transformations over the past few years. Regardless of past experiences, the game is in great shape and to be sure, absolutely gorgeous, built on the Crytek engine, it is truly a sight to behold. Also, instead of just cloning Diablo and the like, it uses a Rage and Willpower system that is awesome in balancing melee and magic abilities that really shakes up gameplay and makes you rethink your strategies instead of just spamming skills.
Slaughtering baddies and the click-click-click type of gameplay is strong here and now, you can play through all of Act 1 for a low, low price of $23.99 during the Steam Summer Sale. Content Patch 1 is available now and the trailer below gives you a good idea of what to expect but if you are a Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, Diablo-esque type of player, Wolcen is definitely worth checking out.
