NACON and KT Racing have announced that they are hard at work on the next entry in their long-running WRC series, WRC 9. The game is still at the early stages of development so not much has been shown in the way of gameplay, but you can check out the announcement above. As part of a new multi-year deal with WRC Promoter that will last until 2022, the team has also announced that they will be working on WRC 10 and WRC 11 in the following years as well leaving rally fans with no shortage of titles to play.
After the success of WRC 8 last fall, the team is hard at work on expanding many key features, including building upon the successful story mode. Three new locations will also make their return to the game including Kenya, Japan, and New Zealand. Two other locations will also be getting reworked for the new game. Further refinements to the simulation are also planned including enhanced physics.
Brief WRC 9 Overview:
3 new rallies: Japan, New Zealand, Kenya
Over 50 official teams and their livery from the WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 and Junior WRC
Over 15 bonus cars that have left their mark on the history of the WRC
The game is currently slated for release on September 3, 2020, across Xbox One, PS4, and PC with a Switch port to follow soon after. To add further excitement for Rally fans, the game is also slated to hit Xbox Series X and PS5!
