Redstone Interactive and Offworld Industries recently launched their WWI shooter Beyond The Wire into early access. They brought the game to life with a bloody and realistic interpretation of The Western Front and they don’t hold back at all. It’s a 50vs50 FPS that roots itself in old WWI trenches and battlefields. You’ll encounter some truly visceral battles with all of the trimmings of the era.
Because it supports up to 100 players at once, it heightens the fact that this is indeed a war. Trench combat alone sets up some really unique gameplay encounters that I’d love to see. The developers also say that this is “the most stunningly-detailed tactical FPS of WW1 that has been seen in a game to date”.
