Back in 2020, indie developer Red Ego Games released their 2D horror adventure game Re:Turn - One Way Trip. Following up on their success of that title, they are continuing the series with Re:Turn 2 - Runaway; this time as a self-published title. If you were a fan of the original title, or just want to check out the series, there is a free demo on Steam available now.
This game will have our protagonist, Saki and her fiancé, Sen, trapped on an abandoned train that’s haunted by an evil spirit. They must battle their way through to escape from the nightmare and free trapped souls from the clutches of the evil which has possessed them. Keep in mind that actions have consequences - in order to stay safe, Saki must decide whether to run, hide, or confront the evil to avoid a fate worse than the lost souls already trapped aboard the train.
Re:Turn 2 - Runaway will be launching on January 28th across PC via Steam, Xbox Consoles, and Nintendo Switch. This second title is said to have completely reworked, vibrant, hand-illustrated in-game visuals and animations, so it is sure to be even better than the first title.
