Prior developers of the renowned Quake titles is collaborating with a new team to use the ole Quake engine for a new spiritual successor game. 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment have teamed up, along with developers KillPixel, in order to create WRATH: Aeon of Ruin. WRATH takes over the classic setting and style of the FPS titles we all grew up loving, but brings in a full 3D aspect to it adding challenge and enemy variety along with it.
The reveal trailer for Wrath: Aeon of Ruin tells some of the story before jumping right into some of the gore-tastic, hard hitting gameplay that will seem familiar while hosting new enemies. Check it out:
Unfortunately, all of us classic FPS fans will have to wait until an unknown month this Summer to play WRATH, but at least it will be within this year; if you can play it on Steam. Those that will be wanting to play on console, be it Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, will have to wait until the early months of 2020 to enjoy this pixelated FPS title.
What do you think of the WRATH game reveal? Are they putting the Quake engine to good use once again?
