We just found out Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! would be a character in Jump Force, and now we have a little more information about how he’ll work. It looks like he will use cards from Duel Monsters, but it won’t just be Monster Cards. Bandai Namco sent out a tweet recently that showed Yugi drawing cards from his Duel Disk and summoning the likes of Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, and Slifer the Sky Dragon.
Some sources are reporting that the cards will work “as ‘assist’ characters” and he would also have access to Magic, er sorry, Spell Cards like Swords of Revealing Light and Spell Shattering Arrow. We still don’t have any specifics, but hopefully we can get a video that better shows what the heck he’s doing trying to fight the big guns like Goku and Naruto. With multiple characters from other franchises joining the fray, could we potentially see Seto Kaiba and/or Joey Wheeler make an appearance as well, or will they restrict it to just Yugi because of the different mechanics?
Jump Force is expected on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2019.
