Developer Konami recently announced that a new game in the Castlevania franchise will be released this year. However, the upcoming title will not be released in consoles, but will be available to iOS devices. The new Castlevania mobile game will feature some of the most beloved characters from the series and will be a co-op and competitive multiplayer game.
The upcoming mobile game is called Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls and will introduce real-time cooperative action. Players will have the ability to pair up characters in the game and will include a player boss rush mode and a 4v4 competitive multiplayer.
Fans of the game would be happy to know that some of their favorite characters from the series will be making an appearance in the mobile game. Confirmed characters include newcomers Genya Arikado and Lucy. Also playable are series mainstays Simon Belmont, Alucard, Charlotte Aulin, Shanoa and Maria Renard.
Currently, Konami did not reveal a specific release date for Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls but the developer will be holding a closed beta test in Japan in the coming months. For those who are interested in previewing the game, you can sign up for the closed beta at Konami’s official website.
