After yesterdays premature leak of Sniper Elite V2 Remastered we knew something was going to be shown today during Rebellions live stream. What we ended up getting however was more than I think anyone had bargained for!
First off we got official confirmation about Sniper Elite V2 Remastered and now know it will be launching this year on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The remaster is set to include all previously released DLC and feature 4K visuals and HDR lighting on supported platforms. There will also be new characters, a photo mode and expanded multiplayer modes over the original release.
Also announced was Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition for the Nintendo Switch. This version of Sniper Elite 3 will come with all previously released DLC as well as include new motion controls and a local multiplayer mode for same room multiplayer. Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition is also expected to ship this year.
The last reveals were for a Sniper Elite VR title and a fifth mainline entry into the Sniper Elite franchise. No info was really presented on these titles at this time but a full reveal of Sniper Elite VR will be coming later this year, possibly at E3 2019? No info regarding the fifth Sniper Elite game will be presented until 2020.
Sniper Elite games have always been fun tactical shooters so its great to see that Rebellion is able to give the franchise such a strong 2019 as well as a new game heading into 2020. I can’t wait to get more info on both Sniper Elite VR and the unnamed fifth entry.
