While this weekend was abuzz with a leak of an Alan Wake remaster found online, Remedy Entertainment has officially confirmed that Alan Wake Remastered is in the works. Remedy Entertainment’s Creative Director, Sam Lake even penned a letter via the Alan Wake fansite (The Sudden Stop) in which he thanks fans for their over 10 years of support for the title.
Alan Wake is one of those titles that I always talk about when it comes to my top 5 games of all time, so to see it being remastered on more current hardware, brings so much joy to me. This is a timeless horror title that’s gameplay, setting, and story age like a fine wine.
This remaster has been made possible through a partnership between Remedy and Epic Games Publishing which will not only bring this remaster to its original console, Xbox, but to PC, and for the first time, Alan Wake will be on PlayStation.
“Alan Wake Remastered is the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.” - Sam Lake
Alan Wake Remastered is set to release this fall on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
More news to come soon.
