Developers Glass Cannon Unplugged and publisher Genuine Entertainment are proud to announce the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for the tabletop rendition of Apex Legends, based on a licensing partnership with Electronics Arts and Respawn Entertainment. Apex Legends: The Board Game is a highly competitive and tactical team vs team miniature-based game in which two to four players are divided into two teams to face each other in a battle royale-style challenge played out within a 3D tabletop environment. Separate expansions will add support for up to six players and add the ability of solo play.
Each player takes on the role of one of the Legends you will recognize from the video game, each coming with their own extremely detailed miniature. The starting four will include Bangalore, Bloodhound, Gibraltar, and Wraith. The core game comes with four Legends included and many more to become available through add-ons and expansions via Kickstarter or future retail releases.
The team over at Glass Cannon Unplugged spent over two years developing an experience that could be enjoyable for everyone: an accessible, easy-to-learn experience for new board gamers, balanced with a depth and scale aimed at satisfying core players. They achieved this through a modular construction of the game rules, with the core box containing three different game modes: Training, Deathmatch, and Battle Royale. Then, thanks to the planned expansions, the game will also contain game modes for solo play, co-op, and tournament play.
The product line for the campaign currently comprises of the Core Box ($88 USD), which provides a highly modular core experience designed to bring a set of diverse board layouts and game modes based on the classic Kings Canyon map. The Full Team Expansion ($39 USD), which will introduce the option to add a 5th and 6th player and compete using two, three-player teams, along with new terrain additions and map set-ups. Plus two new Legends: Lifeline and Pathfinder. Squad Packs I and II ($33 USD each), the first pack including Caustic, Mirage, and Octane. The second includes Crypto, Revenant, and Wattson, each Legend coming with all the in-game components required to use them in-game. A Supply Miniatures Expansion ($28 USD) adding miniatures for Supply Bins, Supply Drops, and Respawn Beacons. A Card Sleeves Pack ($17 USD) and Painting Set ($28 USD) add exactly what they’re titled as.
The Apex Legends: Board Game is currently live on Kickstarter. If you back now, backers at the Core Pledge level and above will gain access to the Loba Expansion. Check out the Kickstarter Trailer below!
