Aspyr Media has been on a roll lately with the announcements of their re-releases of favorite games from the last couple of decades. First Stubbs The Zombie, and now finally, players will be able to get their hands on Star Wars: Republic Commandos very shortly! Last year they gave gamers Star Wars Racer and Star Wars: Jedi Academy re-releases. Since then, players have been waiting in anticipation for a Republic Commandos announcement. The re-release is slated for April 6th, 2021, and will be available to purchase digitally for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 and will cost $14.99.
This is another huge win not only for Star Wars fans but for gamers who appreciate the preservation of video games in general. This re-release brings a much-loved game of the past to new gamers or those that didn’t have the chance to try it back at its initial release too. Republic Commandos has been available through backward compatibility for years now on Xbox, but this re-release opens it up to a much wider audience for the other two major gaming platforms. Aspyr Media has also stated on Twitter that the announcements of re-releases will not stop as they plan on having more as we run through 2021. I cannot wait to see what they have in store for us!
