ASSASSIN' S CREED ODYSSEY Sold More Than Origins In Its First Week

After Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s launch earlier this month, the game was able to overtake the first week sales of its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Origins. Moreover, Odyssey also sold more than both Unity and Syndicate, with Ubisoft revealing that Odyssey has had “the franchise’s best launch-week performance of this console generation.”

"We are incredibly proud of what the team accomplished with Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and humbled by the amazing reception from critics and players," Ubisoft’s Geoffroy Sardin said. "Launch is just the start of this epic journey. We have robust content plans for Assassin's Creed Odyssey that will keep players engaged and exploring the game's beautiful and compelling world for a long time to come."

Ubisoft attributes the high review scores of Odyssey as the primary factor that boosted sales as the developer revealed that the game even sold twice as fast as Syndicate after it was launched last week.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is now available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (via Streaming in Japan), and Microsoft PC.
