Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: All Legendary Ship Locations and How to Beat Them

The hardest challenge in the original Black Flag was, of course, the Legendary Ships. These were the nightmares of those of us who wanted to complete the game back in the day. In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, they are back, and even meaner than before. Here is where to find them and how to beat them.

Ship upgrades for Legendary Ship battles in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

Before locations and strategies are discussed, you might want to visit the nearest Harbourmaster. The Legendary Ships are no joke, and each of them will sink you in the blink of an eye.

So, not only will you have to upgrade your Harbourmaster at Great Inagua to unlock and purchase all the Jackdaw upgrades possible, but you’ll probably have to get hold of Ultimate upgrades as well. Here are the locations for the vital Ultimate Plans required to fully upgrade the Jackdaw’s defense and offense to give it a fighting chance.

  • Hull Armor Ultimate Plan: San Ignacio Wreck (348,745)

  • Ram Ultimate Plan: La Concepción Wreck (150,271)

  • Broadside Cannons Number Ultimate Plan: The Blue Hole (440,145)

  • Heavy Shot Strength Ultimate Plan: Ambergris Key (28,159), then Misteriosa (on top of ruins) (271,177)

  • Mortars Ultimate Plan: Antocha Wreck (600,636)

Legendary Ships locations and how to beat them in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

La Dama Negra

To unlock the La Dama Negra legendary battle, you will have to capture the Serranilla fort in the southwest corner of the map (317,120). Once you do, La Dama Negra will spawn on your map (240,72).

This will probably end up being a long fight for the Jackdaw. The La Dama Negra is a very sturdy vessel, and its sides are practically impenetrable. Therefore, you will have to attack it from behind either with your Ram or your cannons and bow chasers. This is easier said than done, as you’ll have to constantly avoid its mortar shots, so keep that in mind and be patient.

El Impoluto

Capturing the Dry Tortuga fort in the northwestern part of the map (223,722) will make El Impoluto come out of its hiding spot (115,842).

As soon as the naval battle begins, El Impoluto will attempt to ram you and put a definitive end to the Jackdaw. Use your Bow Chasers to slow it down and quickly move out of its way. You can choose to attack it from behind, but you’re better off firing your cannonballs like there’s no tomorrow at El Impoluto. Perfect Brace will be a godsend here, as well as in the other legendary ship showdowns.

HMS Prince

The HMS Prince (854.55) will pop up on your map as soon as you capture the Navassa Fort in the southeast corner of the map (701,194).

Similar to La Dama Negra, the HMS Prince will make use of mortars to attempt to ruin your day. Worst of all, the fog will keep this legendary ship concealed. This, of course, on top of its Broadside Cannons that will send you to oblivion in an instant.

Wait for lightning strikes to locate the HMS Attack and, again, attacking it from behind is the way to go, but be wary of staying close to it to nullify its mortars.

HMS Fearless & Royal Sovereign

Finally, the twin ships, the HMS Fearless and the Royal Sovereign (811,858), will appear in the northeastern part of the map as soon as you capture the Eleuthera fort (692,762).

While the HMS Fearless and the Royal Sovereign have lower HP each in comparison to the rest of the legendary ships, their combined effort to take you down arguably makes this fight the hardest in the game. The main thing to keep in mind is to avoid ending up in the middle of the two. That is a death sentence.

Instead, keep moving and deal damage to both of them equally with your mortars and Broadside Cannons while assisted with the chain shots to slow them down. Try to get them both to very low health before sinking one of them. Once you do, the other will attempt to ram you very aggressively, so having the remaining vessel one hit away from defeat will probably save your life.
