Atari headlined BIG Festival 2023 and revealed a teaser trailer for the newest addition of the Atari Recharged series, Quantum: Recharged. The series looks to reimagine arcade classics, and Quantum is the next game to receive this honor. Players will have to maneuver around enemy spacecraft and encircle them to create a brilliant cosmic explosion!
Players will have to survive waves of enemies in space but with the skill of entrapping them in a cosmic circle that’ll explode upon completion, as opposed to the regular blaster fire or bombs. Levels will challenge the player’s skills at maneuverability and increase the difficulty in movement as the game goes on.
Since the game is a remake, there is an all-new vibrant color scheme, new upgrades, multiplayer co-op, two game modes, and a new soundtrack composed by industry veteran and Atari mainstay, Megan McDuffee. It’s truly incredible to see so many old-school arcade games get the respect they deserve from the company that trailblazed the video game industry.
Quantum: Recharged will launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Atari VCS, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
