A game that is using a whole new method to bring you an action-adventure title while being directly aimed at the visually impaired yet promising to provide a unique experience to all gamers has announced that they will be launch on Xbox One at the same time as their launch on Steam! That’s right, Falling Squirrel has announced that they are going to launch The Vale: Shadow of the Crown on both platforms during Q2 of 2020. Not only will this be something new for PC players, but console bound ones as well.
If this is the first you are coming across this title, then I suggest you check out the original announcement and my first impression from their demo 6 months ago. For those that already know and are ready for a literally sightless adventure, as the game has practically no graphical qualities to offer, then this should be some exciting news! I know it is for me because my Xbox One definitely runs games better than my PC does as I haven’t had the chance to upgrade that in a few years now.
Also, a good note about the development is that not only are they the winner of both the 2018 Ubisoft Indie Series Special Prize and Reboot Develop Red 2019 Special Selection Prize, but they are developing this game with consultation from the Canadian Institute for the Blind. This helped them utilize the latest in assistive technologies, including binaural audio and haptic controller feedback, to create an immersive experience and a thrilling action-adventure game.
