Soundfall, the rhythm-based looter shooter from Drastic Games and Noodlecake Games, is now available! The announcement came from the Indie World Showcase that aired this morning on the official Nintendo YouTube channel, which featured information on a bunch of new indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Gameplay footage released alongside the game’s announcement shows off Soundfall’s colorful aesthetic and the wide range of biomes players will visit on their journey. It also showcases the game’s rhythm combat that challenges players to match their movements and attacks to the game’s musical backdrop. The game will feature cooperative play with up to four players, allowing gamers to team up with friends to save Symphonia.
Soundfall is a dungeon-crawling adventure that takes players to the land of Symphonia: a musical realm where a noble group of warriors known as the Guardians of Harmony face the disruptive forces of Discord. Players take on the role of one of these Guardians on an action-heavy quest that features over 140 songs to battle along with.
Timing is key to Soundfall’s combat, as each attack gets a power boost when activated alongside the musical score. There are also over 500 different types of gear that come with different stats and perks to give players further control over their character’s progression and customization.
Soundfall is available now for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Many other indie games also received the spotlight during this Indie World Showcase, including the unique and off-putting Cult Of The Lamb and the oddly colorful Shells-like Another Crab’s Treasure.
