Gamers were excited when the unexpected release of the original Doom trilogy was announced. Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3 are all available on the Nintendo Switch in the eShop. As soon as they were up, however, the games had some issues that frustrated players. Originally, anyone starting the game had to log into Bethesda in order to even play the game.
That initial hiccup was eventually resolved, as Bethesda made the login an optional feature, but it was irritating nonetheless. The good news is that doesn’t appear to be the end of the support for the titles on the Switch. The developer is promising further improvements. The team is working on changes that will affect lighting, audio, and general performance in-game.
Look for these modifications in an update arriving soon. Overall, it’s pleasing to know that Bethesda is committed to fixing any issues that arise and enhancing the gameplay for those that are returning to the FPS classics.
