When Bloodstained: Ritual of the night was first put on Kickstarter, it drew a ton of attention as it was a new game from long time Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi. Bloodstained looked to continue on the series legacy in a great way. As the game continued to gain support on Kickstarter, an 8-bit title set in the Bloodstained universe was added as an additional stretch goal. Not only was this goal met, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon would release in 2018 nearly a full year before Ritual of the Night. I absolutely loved Curse of the Moon and its modern take on the linear Castlevania titles. But I never would have guessed the side tale would get a sequel.
But as it turns out, that is exactly what is happening! Today Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates have announced that Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will be heading to the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One with a release window of soon. The game will once again have players take up Zangetsu’s sword to eradicate demons with a selection of allies. The game will employ the same style as the original Curse of the Moon but Zangetsu’s allies look far more interesting and diverse in their abilities. Check out all the action in the trailer above!
