Wildly popular mobile developer King, most commonly known for their Candy Crush Saga games, has recently announced on their official site that they are looking for new talent to help develop a new Call of Duty mobile game.
“The team is adapting one of the most iconic game franchises of all-time: Call of Duty, to become a mobile experience. This is a rare and exciting opportunity. Our challenge as a team is to create a Call of Duty experience on mobile that will strive to transform the best console experience fans know and love, while also breaking new ground for mobile and redefining the genre.”
This doesn’t come to much of a surprise since Activision is the parent company for King, but If you’re like the rest of the gaming community, you’re probably wondering how King is going to implement the Call of Duty gameplay mechanics into a mobile app. Will they stick with a first-person virtual joystick method, or go a completely different route. Either way, it seems like Activision is continuing to further expand the Call of Duty franchise and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. So what do you all think? Is it destined to become another money grabbing half baked app or do you think King is going to bring gamers a truly unique mobile experience?
