Sega has recently released an extended trailer focusing on the combat system of the upcoming game, Valkyria Chronicles 4. The preview showed the game’s turn-based combat, and showcased some of the fresh iterations of classes.
Although the trailer is in Japanese, veteran players of Valkyria Chronicles will be able to understand most of the mechanics of the game showed in the preview. The series is known for its intense storytelling and combat system, and it seems like the upcoming installment in the series will embrace those features that fans love.
The four-minute long trailer showcased the game’s combat system set in a much larger map, that is enveloped with enhanced visual effects. The mechanics of the game is still familiar and similar to previous installments in the franchise. However, the trailer showed one significant change, which is the availability of armored vehicles to pick up soldiers in the game. Lastly, the trailer featured the popular soundtrack of the first game by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is set to be released in Japan this March, and will be coming to the PS4. A Nintendo Switch version will also be released at a later date, which is currently slated for a Summer release. As of now, the demo of the game is only available at the Japanese PSN store.
