One of the most popular cooperative horror games on Steam Early Access right now is the stealth-action title GTFO. After developer 10 Chambers initially released the game back in December 2019, they have been gathering feedback and improving the game by utilizing a unique content delivery system called “Rundowns.” Essentially, they were regular game updates that added new limited-time expeditions and replaced the previous Rundown.
Despite the entire premise being that a four-player team of prisoners is held against their will by a mysterious entity called The Warden, they are about ready to provide some freedom to players. After five successful Rundowns, the game has been tweaked, upgraded, and improved enough that they are ready to consider it a finished title. Of course, no online game is ever truly finished, but an official “version 1.0” is a strong step forward.
I’m pretty excited to see the finished version of GTFO after it left such a positive first impression on me. With version 1.0 said to introduce improvements to the game’s graphical rendering, new animations, enhanced online matchmaking, and much more, there is a lot to look forward to! You can catch it now during the Halloween sale, but once it comes out the price is going up to $39.99 USD.
