After its successful comeback last year, Activision’s Crash Bandicoot (originally developed by Naughty Dog), has been one of last year’s most talked about games after the original trilogy was remade from scratch and was launched on Sony’s PlayStation 4.
Now, rumors have been circulating after a European licensing manual has hinted that a new game is on the way, and that there could even be possible ports to other game consoles. In a statement released by GB Eye, they said that:
“There will be another game in 2019, Activision has a five year plan for this and GB Eye is delighted to be on board for all products,” said Max Arguile, the licensing manager at GB Eye. Furthermore, it has also been reported that the N.Sane Trilogy, which is currently exclusive for the PlayStation 4, may be coming to the Nintendo Switch, and PC soon. However, there is no mention if the game or any of its future releases, will be coming for Microsoft’s Xbox One.
Given that the PS4 port has been extremely successful even though Activision did not go all out with its marketing efforts, it is not unlikely if they plan to release the game to other systems, especially with the success that the Nintendo Switch has been enjoying ever since its release. Personally, I think that Crash Bandicoot will work extremely well with the Switch. I mean, imagine playing your childhood hero on the go. However, it should also be noted that Crash Bandicoot has strong ties with Sony, that they even made Crash their unofficial mascot during its popularity back in the 90’s.
GameTyrant has reached Activision for further comments, and we are still waiting for their response. However, since the rumor is still not confirmed nor denied by the company, it is still best not to keep our hopes up, and wait for the official announcement.
