With indie games really bringing the pixel glory days back into mainstream gaming, it’s always nice to check out what new games are coming out within the genre. To no one's surprise, the newest pixel indie game Dark Deity hits more than 100,000 copies in sales and has decided to celebrate with a free weekend.
Developed by Sword and Axe and published by Freedom Games, Dark Deity is a turn-based tactical RPG inspired by some of the genre's most classic entries. With 28 different arenas and 30 memorable characters, it's no surprise that Dark Deity has garnered immense support from the gaming community and has continued to grow over the days after its release. In celebration of their huge milestone, Sword and Axe have decided to allow new players to claim a free copy of the game on Epic Games Store throughout this weekend.
