DOOM: The Dark Ages was the opening act for the Xbox Showcase, and it instantly set the pace for what turned out to be a fantastic show of titles. While many fans are not sure how Doom guy ended up in this timeline, we are transported back to the medieval era of history equipped with some of the weapons of time, but aslo bringing the patented DOOM personal touch along the way.
While it was rumored that the DOOM series would be taking a step back in time, no one would imagine that rumors of the demon slaying protagonist going back so far in the past would prove true. None the less, the gameplay shown is as visceral as fans can imagine, and with plenty of new weapons shown off to match with the style of the era shown in the trailer, fans are now excited to play the full game when it launches in 2025.
The trailer shows us a detailed look at all of the new weapons, and even old weapons used by the slayer in his new adventure. WIth the mix of weapon styles, this is easily one game that fans will not want to miss out on!
The game will come to Xbox Game Pass day one on PC, Xbox Series consoles, and PS5. With a mystery 2025 release date, this is another game fans should keep an eye out for at future shows.
