Dying Light: The Beast is Almost Here – And I Couldn’t Be More Excited

I’ve actually been replaying the first Dying Light lately, and let me tell you—it still holds up. From the fluid parkour to the nerve-wracking nights in Harran, the original game still gives me chills and reminds me why I fell in love with the series in the first place. With Dying Light: The Beast on the horizon, diving back into the original has been the perfect way to fuel the hype.

And honestly, the delay didn’t sting as much as I expected. September 19 is practically right around the corner, and Techland has been doing a great job of keeping fans engaged in the meantime. From the free weekend for the first game, to the “stamina patch” in Dying Light 2: Stay Human that finally makes traversal feel closer to the original, to new cosmetic bundles that bring a touch of humor to the apocalypse, it feels like the whole franchise is buzzing with life this summer.

Then there’s The Beast itself. The new RTX trailer showed off DLSS 4, ray tracing, and all the bells and whistles for PC players, while confirmation that it’s coming to GeForce Now at launch means you’ll be able to play it almost anywhere. And for those lucky enough to be at gamescom 2025, Techland is setting up Castor Woods for hands-on demos (and even free burgers at Bober’s Burgers). It’s clear they’re pulling out all the stops.

All of this makes me more convinced than ever that The Beast is going to be something special. Techland has listened to their community, kept the DNA of what made Dying Light work, and added fresh layers of horror and intensity. From what we’ve seen, this looks like it could be their biggest hit yet—and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

September can’t come soon enough.
