In two years time, the classic Command & Conquer series will be celebrating its 25th anniversary, and EA is currently preparing for the milestone and is “exploring some exciting ideas” concerning remastering the original PC games.
The information was announced via a post to the Command & Conquer subreddit by EA producer Jim Vessella, known for his work in titles such as Command & Conquer 3 and Red Alert 3. “As most of you may know, we recently announced Command & Conquer: Rivals, a mobile game set in the Command & Conquer universe. Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the…community also wants to see the franchise return to PC.”
Vessella also explained that EA is already exploring ideas on how to best remaster the classic PC games and already has “the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary.” Vassella concluded his post saying that “As a long time C&C fan and developer, I am just as passionate about the C&C franchise as you are, and look forward to hearing your thoughts.”
