EA has come forward with a claim that sales of the upcoming BioWare co-op shooter Anthem will sell 5-6 million copies in just 6 weeks! The news came via EA CFO Blake Jorgensen. Anthem launches on February 22 for PC PS4 and Xbox One leaving just 6 weeks until the end of the fiscal year on March 31. BioWare ran 2 demos for the game over the last 2 weekends that exceeded their expectations and my own I might add. according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, the demo helped with players “realizing it is a game that’s unlike any other game they’ve ever played .”
“We think there is a great opportunity not just this year for [Anthem], but that should sell well for a long period of time as we add more content through the live service plan.”
Just last month Capcom was able to sell through over 3 million copies of Resident Evil 2 in just a few days. Anthem hitting 6 million copies should be an easy feat for the shooter to accomplish in the given time frame barring any game breaking scenarios or scandals.
