Amplitude Studios has revealed a new character from their upcoming sci-fi action game, Endless Dungeon. ZED is the first playable hero that we are introduced to and the trailer gives us some minor backstory of the character. ZED is an infantry soldier and punk rock enthusiast. The headbanger and her squad were returning from an intergalactic metal concert when her ship became overrun with baddies. She is the last survivor and will stop at nothing to make it out alive.
Gameplay depicts ZED as a heavy infantry character, sporting giant-sized armor, and a machine gun. It seems like she will play as a tank character with a few weapons at her disposal. The trailer also depicts her using some kind of shockwave ability with a radius attack. She releases a radial of energy waves surrounding her as she strums her machine gun like an electric guitar.
The comic book art style, vast color palette, and campy feel make this look like a great time. We want to see more character reveals and hopefully an in-depth look at the dungeon aspect level design. The fact that the character backstories are a bit comical and lighthearted, it would be great to see if the game will further explore this lore.
The brilliant team over at Amplitude Studios revealed their new rogue-lite tactical action game at The Game Awards 2020. Fans of the Endless franchise were eagerly awaiting a newly announced title and it looks like Amplitude was looking to satisfy those fans and gather some new ones. Endless Dungeon is an action top-down shooter with tower defense mechanics sprinkled in. Not much has been shown about the game but Amplitude is determined to drip-feed bite-sized content with these reveals. To keep you salivated a bit longer, check out some gameplay below.
Endless Dungeon currently does not have a release window but is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Switch, and PC via Steam.
