It’s time to take another journey into the world of Pandora. At today’s Ubisoft Forward, the publisher ended the show by unveiling Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Frontiers of Pandora is a first-person action-adventure title that will allow players to explore the lush open-world of Pandora behind the eyes of the planet’s native people, the Na’vi.
The game is developed by Massive Entertainment, the devs behind projects like The Division 2, and the untitled open-world Star Wars game that Ubisoft has up its sleeve. They’re also working in close collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney to make sure that the final product is top-notch.
Frontiers of Pandora was built using the newest version of the Snowdrop engine and was developed exclusively for next-gen consoles and PC. It’s sure to capture all of the beauty that makes Pandora so alluring. I can’t wait to walk around the gorgeous forests at night. If you’ve ever been to Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you know how amazing that planet can be.
As far as the story goes, this title features a new standalone tale where you’ll play as a Na’vi as they go on a journey across the Western Frontier, an all-new piece of Pandora that we’ve never seen before. You’ll come across all of the creatures and foliage you’ve seen from the movie as well as its villains, the RDA who you’ll face off against.
I can’t wait to see some gameplay for this one. I’m a huge fan of the franchise and would love to see how this game ties into the upcoming films that Disney is going to release.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora releases in 2022 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Google Stadia, and Luna. Be sure to watch out for our other E3 content which we’ll be dropping over the next few days!
